Biodynamic
Goes further: associations like Demeter additionally require the estate to be run as a closed cycle and prescribe their own preparations and working rhythms. Every Demeter wine is organic, but not every organic wine is biodynamic.
Natural wine
Not a protected term. It usually means wines from organic farming that see as little intervention as possible in the cellar: spontaneous fermentation with native yeasts, little or no added sulfur, unfiltered. They often taste more idiosyncratic — in Biovino the funky rating captures that.
Because the terms get mixed up and not every bottle carries a seal, Biovino records each characteristic separately — and marks what is actually documented and what is not.
