Die Trauben stammen aus Parzellen in Barolo, Castiglione Falletto, La Morra, Monforte d’Alba und Serralunga d’Alba auf kalkhaltigen Lehmböden, teils aus rund 300 Metern Höhe. Die Gärung wird laut Jahrgangsdatenblatt durch einen Pied de Cuve in temperaturkontrollierten Edelstahltanks eingeleitet; tägliche Remontage und etwa 25 Tage Maischekontakt folgen. Danach reift der Wein 36 Monate in großen französischen Holzfässern und weitere zwölf Monate auf der Flasche. Er zeigt rote Beeren, Pflaume, getrocknete Blüten und Nussnoten, dazu straffe Säure, feste reife Tannine und einen dichten, langen Körper.
